WHAT WE BELIEVE
At First Baptist Church, our mission is to use the gifts God gave each of us to make all people into fully devoted disciples of Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ, our lives should be a living witness to the transforming power of the Gospel. Our existence is best summed up in these verses from Romans 12:1-2: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
The Bible commands us to make disciples of all nations, so our goal is to reach the world for Christ. As we minister in Hughes Springs, God has given us a heart for people all over the globe who need to hear this Gospel.
What To Expect
Our prayer is that you have a life changing encounter with Jesus Christ when you are part of worship at First Baptist Church. We believe God speaks to each of us in different ways, and we try to reflect that in our worship services where you will experience a variety of styles, including contemporary and traditional elements.
You will also find that people dress in many different ways.
We want everyone to feel welcome and at home.
We have a very loving and supportive church family and hope that makes an impression on you as well as the preaching & worship through music does.
